Rosary in the Park
On Saturday the 9th of October, on a lovely spring morning down at Riverside Park, Holy Family Parish once again participated in the global, non-stop Rosary Chain. A world-wide event, this annual public rosary unites people from all different ages and backgrounds, across our planet, in a common prayer for the reparation of sins. It is held in public to be a sign of hope in these troubled times, to give witness to our faith and to invite and encourage others to also lift up their hearts and minds to God.
This is the sixth year that Holy Family Parish have participated in this global event, after Lake Boga resident Marilyn Foley responded to a call to host the first local meeting in 2016. Not content to wait another whole year to gather again, Nola O’Bree asked if they could meet every month. A group commitment was made and Rosary in the Park was born. Ever since then, the group continues to meet at 10am on the second Saturday of every month, come rain, hail or shine (covid restrictions allowing). The make-up of the group is never the same from one month to the next, and new people are often joining in, so please feel free to come along anytime – you’d be most welcome, and your prayers most appreciated.
‘There is no problem, I tell you, no matter how difficult it is, that we cannot resolve by the prayer of the Holy Rosary.’
